Bitsa.... My second home...
Yes, I agree. Bitsa is money. I make money on horses. But still, our veterinary care is considered the best.
I'll tell you the rental is not so tortured. For every horse there is a crowd of clients who have this horse as their favorite. No one is deprived of affection. The staff is friendly for the most part. Yes, there are also “cool” girls, always ready to show off in front of clients by pushing the horse’s croup so that he turns around... But this is everywhere. And if this is noticed by the staff, it is punishable by expulsion from the stable, at least temporarily, until class.
We often have thefts. All kinds of scum steal bandages, fur traps... sometimes bridles...
Rental trainers...well, different. The best coach is definitely Olga Vladimirovna Bylova. She conducts the class very well. It will be interesting for both beginners and more confident riders. There is also a good trainer Elena Vadimovna Voronina. But she doesn't always behave well. When he explains with enthusiasm, and when he sits in the corner of the arena and says only general commands for changing gaits.
Some people praise Sdyushor, but my personal opinion is negative. There they simply squeeze the last juices out of the horse and throw it into rental... Imagine my surprise when Elegant returned to us for rental from the sporting yard. For not a very long time, he seemed to dislike all of humanity, and especially children... The same thing with Dantes. Horses come from the sporting farm to the rental twitchy, all with a broken psyche. And one day I had a very bad feeling about Yastrebova. Because the horse shied away from the ponies returning from class, she beat him with a whip and shouted obscenities at the entire stable... What is she teaching the children? - cruelty...
I don't know about rent and everything else. I rent from Bylova. I was in Sdyushchor in the past. I ride just for the soul, and not to achieve any sporting victories. I know that Voronina’s pony club groups are very good. A friend of mine trained there and won many prizes under the guidance of this coach.
Our horses are different. There are some for beginners, and some for more difficult ones. There are heavy people. But the fact that they are all unhappy is not true. In any case, when two horses from the collective farm came to us, they were simply shocked by so much food, people giving treats, etc. They were amazed by the levadas; apparently they had not been allowed to run around before. They arrived very thin, simply exhausted. Unfortunately, one of them didn’t stay with us - he went back to the collective farm. Bitsa decided not to take the unhealthy horse. He had something wrong with his kidneys. And the second one, by the way his name is Tibul, stayed with us and carries rentals, being a favorite of many people.
Well, in general, this is the description of Bitz.
Although there is also a wonderful large playpen. There is one drawback in the arena called “new” - there is a gate to the street and the horses are often afraid of them, of them and of the trucks passing behind them.
The playpen is a cozy playpen. It is intended for warming up horses before competitions, and there are also rental, sports and pony club classes held there. There are many good levadas and wonderful parade grounds on the street.

Construction of the equestrian sports complex began in 1977 during the preparation of Moscow for the XXII Olympic Games. The official opening of the complex took place on July 4, 1980, where Olympic competitions in equestrianism and modern pentathlon were held. On an area of 50 hectares there is a show jumping stadium, an arena, winter and summer stables, a hotel, a veterinary hospital, a steeplechase circle, and an area for horseback riding. Previously, KSK "Bitsa" was known as the "Equestrian Sports Complex of Trade Unions".

To the left of the entrance, a fountain was installed, from which three giant horses of Zurab Tsereteli jump out. However, few people remember the actual fountain in operation.

In the 1970s, the vicinity of Bitsa was intensively built up with high-rise buildings, but migrants from other metropolitan areas moved into Chertanovsky new buildings on the outskirts of the city without much enthusiasm due to transport problems. The situation changed for the better in 1983 with the opening of the metro station.

Reconstruction of the pond

And here we are at the gates of the horse kingdom.

Scheme of the equestrian sports complex:

The competition stadium is 170x40, grass-covered, stands have a capacity of 5,000 seats, there is an electronic scoreboard and a judge's tower. The magazine “Olympiad-80” No. 43 (the official publication of the Organizing Committee of the Games) wrote in 1980: “As you know, the famous English lawn surfaces, considered the standard in equestrian sports, have been grown for decades. And in Bitz, similar work began three years ago. As control tests have shown, the turf surfaces of the Equestrian Center are of high quality and can fully satisfy the requirements of discerning connoisseurs of equestrian sports, masters of dressage and show jumping.”

The battle field is 97x58, covered with sand, stands for 2500 seats, there are judge booths

Indoor arena 89x37 for training and competitions in winter, covering - sand, stands for 1800 seats, there is an electronic scoreboard. The premises below the stands house a conference room, a secretariat, a press service, and rest rooms.

The hotel complex with 50 rooms also has a conference hall, a gym, a bathhouse, a shooting range, and a restaurant.

Show jumping (from the French concours hippique - equestrian competition) is a competition to overcome obstacles taking place on the jumping field. France is considered the birthplace of show jumping; similar tournaments have been held there since the 1850s. There are different types of obstacles in show jumping: cross, wall, ditch, bars, gate and others. A system is a combination of several obstacles in a row.

Before the start of the competition, riders familiarize themselves with the route on foot.

After the Olympic Games, the most significant event occurred in 2012: the International 5* Show Jumping Tournament, a stage of the Nations Cup, was successfully held in Bitsa. The routes of the International Show Jumping Tournament CSIO5* were designed by highly qualified specialist Stefan VIRT from the team of course designers working at the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany.

Horses are picky

Riders - prizes, horses - sweet carrots.

Dressage, in international terminology - training (from the French dressage) - a higher school of riding. Dressage is the dance of the horse, the most elegant and complex form of equestrian sport. In competition, the rider must demonstrate the horse's ability to move correctly in all gaits at varying tempos. When performing these exercises, the horse must move while maintaining one or another position of its body, corresponding to the program number. The general appearance of the horse, its harmony and natural ability for beautiful movements are also assessed.

Demonstration performances in horse riding

During Gorbachev's perestroiki, citizens were given the opportunity to trade their handmade goods without unnecessary formalities. In 1986-1987, artists laid out their works directly on the grass or in the snow, first in a forest alley, then at the entrance to the equestrian center. The Bitsevsky vernissage is immortalized in Eldar Ryazanov’s film “Forgotten Melody for Flute.” Later, the painters were given a place in Izmailovo, where the vernissage exists to this day.

Since 1980, a children's and youth equestrian sports school has been operating in Bitsa, which has trained famous athletes such as Natalya Simonia, Alexander Anikanov, Svetlana Knyazeva, Pavel Sergeev, Sergei Shirokov. Dmitry Svatkovsky, a student of the SDUSHOR in modern pentathlon, became the champion of the 2000 Olympic Games.

On the territory of the complex there is a pony club, a swimming pool, a sports games room, a shooting range, and tennis courts. Classes are also held here in hippotherapy - therapeutic horse riding, recommended for patients with neurological and other diseases. In winter, a skating rink is installed on the field, and New Year's performances are held in the arena.

For twenty years, the Olympic electronic scoreboard remained at the show jumping stadium, and temporary stands along the perimeter were rusting. Now the only reminder of the Games is a giant pictogram (the official symbolic image of equestrian sport) on the façade of the stands of the show jumping stadium. In the early 2000s, the stables and arena were repaired, the soil in the fields was replaced, and plastic chairs were installed in the stands instead of wooden benches.

After reconstruction, Bitsa will become one of the best equestrian centers in Europe.

The Bitsa equestrian center will undergo renovations. After reconstruction it will be one of the best equestrian centers in Europe. The possibility of building two more indoor arenas with guest stalls (stalls for horses) is being considered, which will allow larger national and international competitions to be held in Bitsa.

“This is a wonderful sports complex. Probably one of the largest in Europe. The pride of Olympic and Soviet sports. As I understand it, there are many questions about its restoration and reconstruction. He is in a difficult physical and moral condition. But, as they say, nothing is impossible,” he said.

Answering a question from equestrian trainer Tatyana Varina, the Moscow Mayor noted that all work on the reconstruction of the Bitsa sports complex will be carried out at the expense of the city budget.

“We selected investors so that we could not restore this complex using budget money; it is quite large. And they came with just these ideas: a shopping center or housing - a lot of housing, little housing, but the meaning is the same. Therefore, all these investment contracts ended in nothing. I am against any housing being built on the territory of the sports complex. Therefore, in 2017, we completed negotiations with investors and decided to restore the complex ourselves,” he emphasized.

On the territory of the complex it is planned to equip publicly accessible children's, sports and workout grounds, to place a cafe and other facilities for recreation and entertainment.

“We will strive, as I already said, not just to restore the complex, but to build additional sports facilities, purchase sports equipment - so that any international competitions can be held. But most importantly, he must be popular among Moscow residents: they love and know him,” added Sergei Sobyanin.

The largest equestrian center in Europe

KSK "Bitsa" is located in Northern Chertanovo next to the Bitsa forest. It was built for the 1980 Olympics. Equestrian and modern pentathlon competitions were held here.

The complex covers an area of 47 hectares and is the largest equestrian center in Europe. It includes:

— grass stadium for show jumping competitions;

— two universal fields with sand coating;

— 10 training fields (two of them with grass);

— three indoor arenas;

— steeplechase circle with grass and sand paths;

— cross-country track for triathlon;

— track for athletics cross-country;

— five winter stables for 234 horses;

— three summer stables for 142 horses;

— a veterinary clinic with special premises for receiving and examining horses;

— a sports and hotel complex with a gym, swimming pool and shooting range.

On the basis of KSK "Bitsa" there are regularly held Spartakiads, championships of Moscow and Russia, competitions on equestrian sports and thematic exhibitions. Professional and novice athletes train here in traditional disciplines, as well as vaulting classes.

In addition, the KSK conducts hippotherapy for people suffering from cerebral palsy and other diseases for which contact with horses is indicated. Anyone can come here and ride a horse and take a lesson with an instructor. The complex is open all year round. In winter, the show jumping stadium is used in the same way as ice rink, and the steeplechase circle is like ski Track.

In 2017, the complex was transferred to the operational management of the Bitsa sports school of Moskomsport. Currently, 332 athletes are involved in equestrian sports at the institution at the expense of the budget.

Revival of "Bitsa"

The Bitsa equestrian complex has been operating for almost 40 years, but during this time it has never undergone major repairs. Because of this, in recent years the infrastructure of the complex was in poor condition: roofs were leaking, plaster was falling off, the walls in the stables and arenas were covered with fungus. Many of the complex’s facilities are obsolete and cannot accommodate everyone who wants to engage in equestrian sports.

Selective overhaul of the complex has begun in 2017.

“Last year we allocated quite a decent amount of money - about a billion - for current repairs. But we see that this is not enough. We need an integrated approach: restore all the buildings that exist here. Some of them will even have to be demolished and new ones built. For example, the veterinary hospital is in terrible condition,” explained Sergei Sobyanin.

To date, the soil on three show jumping fields has been replaced, the premises and roof of the arena and sports hall have been repaired, and the stained glass windows in the sports hall and swimming pool of the sports and hotel complex have been replaced. They also cleaned up the aquatic gym at the veterinary hospital and six open show jumping fields. In 2019, the renovation of individual facilities will continue.

“So there is a lot of work ahead. Today we will discuss it with our colleagues and, I hope, create a program. And over the course of five years, we will consistently restore it so that the complex not only appears in its former glory, but also corresponds to the modern level,” the Moscow Mayor emphasized.

Equestrian sport in Moscow

They work in Moscow 27 equestrian centers. Among them are “Bitsa”, “Youth of Moscow” (Zarechye street, building 7), “Elf” (Leninsky Prospekt, building 137b), the Center for the development of children's equestrian sports in Neskuchny Garden (Leninsky Prospekt, building 30), the CSKA equestrian center (street Dybenko, house 5), equestrian arena at the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazeva (Upper Alley, building 5). The remaining Moscow stables and clubs are privately owned.

Every year in Moscow it takes place more than 30 equestrian competitions. These are city championships, championships of sports schools, cups and tournaments of the Moscow Equestrian Federation and others.

Two city sports schools - "Bitsa" and "Youth of Moscow" - are open equestrian department. They train 847 people in horse riding, more than 80 percent of whom are children under 15 years of age. 576 people have sports categories, of which 445 people have mass categories, 45 people have first category, 65 people are candidates for master of sports, 10 people are masters of sports, 11 people are international masters of sports. Athletes are trained by 34 coaches, including one honored coach of Russia.

Horse riding in the parks

You can learn horse riding not only in horse riding arenas, but also in Moscow parks. Regular classes are held in Izmailovsky Park, at the Equiplan club in Kuzminki and at the Kolibri club in Vorontsov Park.

Citizens can ride a horse, pony or donkey without attending special classes in Izmailovsky Park, in the Vlakhernskoye-Kuzminki and Lyublino estates, in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve and in Vorontsovsky Park.
